Raiders’ Josh Jacobs Discusses Contract Negotiations

1 Min Read

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is coming off a career year and will be looking for a new contract as the Pro Bowl running back is set to hit the unrestricted free agent market this offseason.

Jacobs seems confident as he approaches a critical juncture in his career. The Raiders could use the exclusive franchise tag to keep Jacobs in Las Vegas for another season, which would give Jacobs close to $10.1 million for the 2023.

“I feel like I’m in the driver’s seat, you know what I’m saying?” Jacobs said during the Pro Bowl festivities on Saturday, according to The Athletic. “I control the ship. However it goes, that’s how it’s going to go, you know what I’m saying? So, I’m not too much worried about it, but it’s definitely got to make sense.”’

“Ooh, hero turned villain,” Jacobs said in response to being asked about a potential tag. “Hero turned villain, man.”

Jacobs took home the rushing title this season, clocking in 1,653 yards, which was 115 yards ahead of Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry for the NFL’s top spot.
