The Atlanta Falcons have officially activated veteran defensive tackle Eddie Goldman from the reserved/retirement list on Tuesday, eight months after Goldman signed with the team only to retire a few weeks later.
According to ESPN’s Michael Rothstein, Goldman could potentially join a Falcons revamped defensive lineman rotation that currently boasts the likes of Grady Jarrett, Ta’Quon Graham, as well as new addition David Onyemata and 2022 undrafted free agent Timmy Horne.
Goldman, 29, signed with the Falcons last summer, as many former Chicago Bears did, and it was thought that he would be a potential impact starter along the Falcons’ defensive line, prior to his unexpected retirement.
Goldman was drafted by the Bears during the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft and would go on to play 81 games with Chicago, collecting 175 tackles and registering 13 sacks along the way.
