Knicks’ Julius Randle Drops Career High 57 Points

Julius Randle

New York Knicks superstar forward Julius Randle certainly did his part on Monday, pouring in a career-high 57 points and becoming the first Knicks player to drop more than 50 points in a game since Carmelo Anthony.

Unfortunately, it didn’t help the Knicks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, losing the game 140-134 at Madison Square Garden.

“He played so well,” Knicks guard Jalen Brunson said, according to ESPN’s Nick Friedell. “He brought us back, he played unbelievable. We just got to be better as a team to help him make that career night feel like something special. But when you lose that, kind of just chops all the feeling out of everything.”

Randle’s performance put him in some legendary company in Knicks history.

“Those are legends in this game,” Randle said. “And pioneers, specifically for this organization, who laid the groundwork and led the way for players like myself to come behind them, be able to play the game I love. Be able to grind, put on that Knicks jersey with pride.”

“Hopefully I will be able to [enjoy it],” Randle said. “But tonight, probably not.”
