Bears’ Justin Fields Impressing with Progression

1 Min Read

The Chicago Bears opted to stick with young quarterback Justin Fields, ultimately trading away the number one overall pick in the 2023 where they could have selected a quarterback, and hoping he takes a big step forward in his development next season.

So far, the Bears are seeing some good returns on their investment.

Bears’ offensive coordinator Luke Getsy believes that Fields has made significant strides in his development, going as far to say that Fields is now markedly better than he was in 2022.

“Where he was at this time last year to where he is now, I think he’s just light-years ahead of where he was,” Getsy said, according to Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune. “And I feel like he has a ton more to grow going forward. So we’re excited to try to get the best out of him moving forward and keep working toward where we think he can go.”

Fields will have more offensive firepower to work with this season, following their trade with the Carolina Panthers for wide receiver DJ Moore and the addition of running backs Travis Homer and D’Onta Foreman. Chicago also added tight end Robert Tanyon.
