Heat’s Tyler Herro Unlikely For Game 2

2 Min Read

The Miami Heat had been hoping that they would have Tyler Herro back in the lineup for the first time in Game 2 since the star broke his hand earlier this season, but it appears Herro may not be available for Game 3 either.

According to ESPN’s Ros Gold-Onwude, Herro said that he has experienced soreness and swelling in his right hand and can feel it when he’s making his follow-through shooting motion, which is not good news for Miami.

“He also shared his consideration of not wanting to come back and mess up the rhythm of the team,” Gold-Onwude said. “While there was hope he’d return for Game 2 as he’s participating in all aspects of team practice, he’s making sure the time is right for his return to the court.”

While the Heat managed to even the NBA Finals at 1-1 following their upset of the Nuggets in Game 2 in Denver, having Herro return would provide a major boost for the team as the series now shifts to Miami for Game 3.

Herro, who averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 67 games played during the regular season, broke his hand during Game 1 of the Heat’s first round series against the Milwaukee Bucks.
