Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr. Talks Ja Morant Saga

1 Min Read

The Memphis Grizzlies have been pretty mum during the latest saga involving superstar guard Ja Morant, who is facing heavy discipline from the league following yet another incident with him brandishing a firearm on social media, but big man Jaren Jackson has addressed the drama revolving around Morant.

Morant is likely facing a suspension that will have him miss considerable time during the 2023-2024 season, a big blow to the Grizzlies.

“I mean you’re always gonna make mistakes growing up and people gotta understand like, you’re growing up, and you’re the most popular player at this age probably ever” Jackson said of Morant, during an appearance on Podcast P with Paul George presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment. A lot of things back then that you could get away with, you can’t do…but people always gotta understand that everybody’s human. That’s my brother though. No matter what, I stand by my brother.”

Morant surely has the support of Jackson, the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, but it is unclear how his future in Memphis will play out, especially with the suspensions and Morant’s continued problematic behavior.
