Broncos’ Russell Wilson Discusses Pressure Following Brutal First Season in Denver

2 Min Read

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, who arrived amid a ton of excitement and Super Bowl chatter following a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks last offseason, is hoping to wipe away the stench of a brutal first season in Denver.

That season has left a lot of Bronco fans worried that Wilson may have fallen off the cliff in terms of performance and that he will continue to decline, and a number of sports media personalities heaping their own criticisms onto Wilson and the Broncos.

Wilson discussed the pressure he is feeling as he enters his second season in the Mile High City.

“Do I feel the pressure? No. I don’t run from it, I look forward to it. I run to it if anything,” Wilson said during an appearance on the DNVR Broncos Podcast (h/t ClutchPoints). “We as a team, we are all in this thing together. We’re all searching for one thing, and that’s to get better everyday. We are not looking too far ahead, but trying to learn as much as we can in each practice,” Wilson said.

With a new head coach in Sean Payton, the Broncos are hoping that some changes is all that the team, along with Wilson, need to get back in the hunt of an AFC playoff berth in 2023.
