Colts’ Jonathan Taylor To Stay On PUP List

2 Min Read

The Indianapolis Colts opted to not pull the trigger on trading All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor despite heavy interest from a number of teams including strong offers from the Miami Dolphins and now Taylor will miss the first 4 games of the regular season.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Taylor is set to begin the season on the reserve/PUP list which will sideline him for four games.

While it may be disappointing news for fans and NFL journalists who have been covering the Taylor/Colts saga all summer, including last week’s development that the Colts were open to trading Taylor, the Colts now have until the October 31 trade deadline to move Taylor.

Taylor, 24, and the Colts continue to be gridlocked, and it appears less likely than ever that Taylor ever suits up to play for the Colts again.

Colts team owner Jim Irsay led the way in alienating Taylor and leading this relationship to this point, including posts on social media regarding the state of the running back market that certainly did not help matters.

Now, the odds of the Colts getting their desired first-round pick compensation in a trade decreases more, and this saga will now bleed into the season.
