Dolphins Continuing Trade Talks with Colts for Jonathan Taylor

2 Min Read

The Miami Dolphins were one of the first teams to jump into trade negotiations with the Indianapolis Colts for All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor and one of two teams to make a formal offer early in the process.

While that initial offer has been rejected, NFL journalists are reporting that the Dolphins and Colts remain engaged in talks heading into the weekend.

Miami has made at least one offer, that was not accepted, and continues to engage the Colts in negotiations, according to a source,” Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald said during an updated report on Thursday.

The Dolphins are one of a number of teams interested in acquiring Taylor, who is only 24 years of age and could bring the Dolphins already impressive offensive arsenal to a whole other level this upcoming season.

“This is a guy that could put them over the top as far as his ability to be an inside/outside home run threat in that offense that will pose a problem for defenses that not many offenses do because of their speed and ability to defend every blade of grass” ESPN analyst Louis Riddick said. “[It] forces you as a defense to play with light boxes because you’re so scared to death of them going over the top.

Taylor reportedly has the Dolphins atop his list of preferred destinations, as he has a home in Miami (per the Miami Herald), but they are not the only team he would like to play for.

With a Tuesday deadline set to get a deal done, this weekend will be critical in ironing out a deal that will send Taylor to a new team. For fans, staying glued to every sports social media platform will be key in staying up to date with all the latest.
