Former Buccaneers, Bills Receiver Mike Williams Dead at 36

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Mike Williams has passed away at the age of 36 due to injuries that he sustained during a workplace accident, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Williams suffered the injuries while working at a construction site. Williams has been hospitalized in the intensive care in Tampa, Florida, since last week due to the injuries, but Williams died Tuesday morning.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Williams was taken off a ventilator last Thursday.

Williams played five years in the NFL following playing his collegiate career with Syracuse where is is Top 3 all-time in touchdowns and Top 10 in both receiving yards and receptions. Williams spent most of his career with the Bucs.

Williams, who dealt with a variety of injuries during his career, played only 9 games with the Bills.

Following his exit from Buffalo he would catch on with the Kansas City Chiefs but was released prior to the start of the regular season.
