Who wants some Halo 5 tidbits?

A job listing from Microsoft’s Games Test Organization may be hinting at some of the online elements in the next inclination of the popular Halo series, tentatlively titled “Halo 5.” According to a report from Gameranx, the company is currently on the hunt for a software development engineer to add to their testing department. This individual will have to report to the office located in Redmond.

The job description states that the Games Test Organization is currently collaborating with 343 Industries, the development team responsible for “Halo 5.” The job applicants need to possess extensive experience when it comes to online services and technologies which leads many to believe it’s a clear indicator that the sequel could feature some kind of web features for the Xbox One, computer and mobile platforms. Once hired, the new hire is expected to create automatic testing solutions. Read the job listing (1st paragraph) from the Microsoft Careers page below:

“The Games Test Organization (GTO) is working with 343 Industries on creating new and innovative companion experiences for the Halo Universe. We are creating a best in class experience for fans to dive deeper into the Halo games, story, products, and community across the web, Xbox One, and mobile platforms. We are seeking a self-motivated SDET with significant experience in web technologies and services. If you are excited about creating smart automated testing solutions and working on an entertainment product that has a large, rabid fan base, then this may be the role for you.”

Microsoft is expected to announce more details on the software product at E3 2014 in June where “Halo 2 Anniversary” is also heavily rumored. The remastered port is rumored to come out later this year for Xbox One. There is also speculation that Halo 5 may not be arriving until 2015.

E3 will probably provide us far more information once it starts in June. Stay tuned.
