Joe Buck, Troy Aikman to Call Fox’s Thursday Night Football

Fox’s new Thursday Night Football package will feature two familiar faces in the broadcast booth as the network has tapped Joe Buck and Troy Aikman for the gig.

Fox president Eric Shanks announced that Buck and Aikman will be taking on Thursday night duties while still calling Sunday afternoon games, according to the Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand.

FOX had pursued Peyton Manning, going as far as to offer him a lucrative annual salary, and had also explored the likes of former NFL Players Joe Thomas, Carson Palmer and Jason Witten, while also kicking the tires on Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olson.
