New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson has returned to the NBA bubble on Friday, according to an official team statement.
Williamson left the NBA campus bubble in Orlando, Florida back on July 16th due to a family emergency, and will now enter the NBA quarantine period before officially rejoining the team.
“My family and I appreciate the love and respect that everyone showed us while we dealt with a private family matter,” Williamson said , in an official team statement (h/t ESPN’s Andrew Lopez) . “I’m excited to rejoin my team in Orlando and look forward to getting back on the court with my teammates after quarantine.”
While away from the bubble, Williamson was testing negative for COVID-19.
Williamson averaged 23.6 points on 58.9% shooting while grabbing 6.8 rebounds and dishing 2.2 assists per game over 19 games for New Orleans this season.
