Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler will miss multiple games after he suffered a hyperextended knee and hamstring injury during Sunday’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Ekeler is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury, but it is likely that he will be landing on the injured reserve soon.

The Chargers have been hit hard with injuries this season, with safety Derwin James out for the season and wide receiver Mike Williams missing time as well.

The Chargers will turn to rookie Joshua Kelley and Justin Jackson during Ekeler’s absence.
