Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay has been the subject of trad rumors ahead of his potential entry into free agency in 2021, but Golladay wants to make it clear that he prefer to stay in Detroit.
Golladay intends to be loyal to the team that drafted him in 2017, and gave him his first opportunity to have a career in the NFL.
“I want to be here, like the city, like what’s going on,” Golladay said, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Golladay knows that the Lions will be undergoing a number of changes this offseason following the firing of head coach Matt Patricia, but he is willing to stick it out in Detroit.
“They believed in me,” Golladay. “And say, if a contract, if it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t work out, then I’ll go somewhere else and ball out and play. But like I say, I’m a loyal person and of course I want to be here. I started my career here.”
Golladay has been sidelined since Week 8 with a strained hip flexor muscle, and has been limited to 5 games this season, collecting 20 receptions for 338 yards and 2 touchdowns.
