The New York Mets are making a “serious push” to sign former Chicago White Sox veteran catcher James McCann, according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman.
While talks are ongoing, no deal has been close to being finalized. McCann has also drawn serious interest from multiple clubs.
McCann seems to be the prime focus for the Mets, who don’t seem to be in the market for catcher J.T. Realmuto, despite rumors linking them to the star catcher.
