Boston Celtics’ guard Kemba Walker is not making any excuses for his poor performance during the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, including his miss on a potential game-winning shot at the close of the game.
“I’m not even a player like that to really get frustrated,” Walker said, according to The Athletic’s Jay King. “I’m more smiling, and I wasn’t that tonight. I got into my own head and mentally I hurt myself. And I can’t — can’t — do that for this team. These guys look to me, especially when things are going tough, these guys look at me and I can’t put my head down and not mentally be engaged into the game like I was tonight. I got to be better on that end.”
