Amazon streaming platform Twitch has “indefinitely” banned former President Donald Trump from their platform, according to The Verge.

The actions comes just two weeks following the platform disabling Trumps channel, which prevented him from streaming but it kept his page active on their website, following the attack on the Capitol.

“We have indefinitely suspended President Trump’s Twitch channel due to the ongoing risk of further incitement of violence,” a Twitch spokesperson said, per the report. The company ” indefinitely suspended President Trump’s Twitch channel due to the ongoing risk of further incitement of violence. The President’s statements continue to be interpreted as calls to action, and we are taking this action to remove the potential for harm to our community and the general public”, according to the Business Insider.

In a statement shared by Verge: “The President’s statements continue to be interpreted as calls to action, and we are taking this action to remove the potential for harm to our community and the general public. Twitch has clear rules that prohibit hateful conduct, harassment, or incitement of violence on our service, and we consider off-service events when making enforcement decisions. However, the events of the past weeks have highlighted a gap with respect to rhetoric that encourages violence, regardless of whether or not it was directly streamed on Twitch. We will be updating our policies as a result of our consideration of this situation.”

The suspension means that Trump will have no way to appeal the ban, and will prevent him from making other twitch channels unless his suspension is lifted.

Twitch has followed suit with a number of other social medial platforms that have permanently banned Trump, such as Twitter.
