Wolves Acquire Rudy Gobert

The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to terms on a trade with the Utah Jazz that will send premier defensive anchor Rudy Gobert to the Wolves that will see him pair up with Karl-Anthony Towns, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Gobert, who has spent his entire nine-year career in Utah, will head to Minnesota in a blockbuster deal that will see the Wolves send back Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, No. 22 overall pick Walker Kessler and four first-round picks, which include 2023, 2025 and 2027 picks unprotected and a top-5 protected 2029 pick.

Gobert averaged 15.6 points, a league-leading 14.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game last season for the Jazz, in a season that ended with rumors circulating that the Jazz were looking to retool, and offering Gobert up for trade.
