Astros’ Justin Verlander Pulled During No-Hit Bid

Houston Astros ace Justin Verlander was in the midst of a no-hit bid against the Minnesota Twins during Houston’s 4-2 victory on Tuesday night when he was shockingly pulled after 91 pitches, erasing his chance to notch a no-hitter.

Verlander, 39, may have been frustrated with the call to end his no-hit bid, but he certainly didn’t show it in conversations with the media following the game.

“It was a pretty easy conversation,” Verlander said, according to MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart.

Verlander has been stellar for the Astros this season, posting a 15-3 record and a 1.95 ERA that leads all qualified pitchers in Major League Baseball this season for the Astros.
