The main event for Brave MMA’s Brazil show has been announced. Chute Boxe Diego Lima’s Lucas “Mineiro” Martins will take on X-Gym’s Paulo “Bananada” Gonçalves in a 5 round featherweight fight.
The two fighters have a long history as they were scheduled to fight multiple times but the bout never came into fruition. They will finally get the chance to battle on March 18th when they headline the Brave 3 show in Curitiba.
The 18-3 former UFC fighter Martins, is currently riding a 3 fight win streak. He most recently submitted Gilson Lomanto via anaconda choke. He will look to string his first 3+ fight win streak since starting 12-0 in his professional career.
The 32 year old veteran Gonçalves, fought just last month when he picked up a split-decision win over Nilson Pereira. At 22-11, the Team Nogueira and X-Gym fighter has fought all over Brazil, the US and Europe as he looks to pick up a big win over the highly touted Martins.
Brave 3: Battle in Brazil is projected to feature plenty more Brazilian talent as the Bahrain-based MMA promotion makes it’s first international trip. UFC legend Frankie Edgar will serve as part of the commentary team to an event which promises to deliver fireworks. Stay tuned for the remainder of the card.
