At New York (Showtime):

Errol Spence Jr.(22-0) vs. Lamont Peterson(35-3-1)- For starters, I have always loved the way Peterson operates on the inside. Peterson steps in and places his lead foot between his opponents’ feet and really digs in with hard body shots.

Spence on the flip side does the exact same thing except his shots seem to be better placed because of the way he turns all of his shots completely over and his stiff hard jab can be used as a power lead hand shot.

Peterson has to be extremely well conditioned with plenty of gas in his tank in order to have a real shot in beating his younger foe. Unfortunately for Peterson, I don’t see him having enough in his arsenal to box Spence from a safe distance to keep the stalking killer away.

In this toe to toe clash, I would be far from shocked if Spence ends up stopping Peterson late by simply being able to absorb the punishment better than Peterson.

I see Peterson landing a good share of power shots and will punch with Spence to score with clean counters.

But I also see Spence cutting the ring off in half on Peterson and will prove to be too strong for Peterson down the stretch and will land the harder judge friendly thudding shots to take a clear 9-3 unanimous decision.

Robert Easter Jr.(20-0) vs. Javier Fortuna(33-1-1)-  No real need in me romancing this pick. I simply feel that Easter being the much longer and more rangy fighter will be able to keep Fortuna within striking distance behind his stabbing long jab all night long.

The southpaw Fortuna has good speed and good footwork but he will need to keep Easter turning and fire multiple overhand right shots in order to score with enough shots to get himself the nod.

I see Fortuna having a few good moments early but Easter will eventually dictate the pace and will blitz his foe with short hooks working behind his jab to stop Fortuna in his tracks inside of 10 rounds.
